Database: CRM software should allow unlimited entry of contacts, duplicate records, and have powerful search capabilities. This core feature lets you build and store records on contacts. Relationship-based: CRM software helps you manage your customer and contact database. The database should have relationships built in so that fields in related records can automatically populate, automatically record mailings, emails, appointments, to-dos, etc. in the contact’s history, auto-populate and maintain related records, even if the type of contact is changed, and more.
Import/Export Capabilities: CRM software should have the ability to move all data between applications and import and export all data easily. Some databases (especially proprietary ones) do not allow users to import and export all the data, limiting or charging for export of additional data.
Interactive Planner/Calendar: CRM software should have the capability of tying the Planner to the contact’s record.
Reports: CRM software should have the ability to run pre-defined reports.
Ease of Use and Good Technical Support: The database should be easy to learn and use. A good relationship and ease of contact with your software company is very important.
